A Name A name is written on the inside of my wrist. I have never met the person, seen the person, or spoken with the person this name belongs to. It is written in red ink, so as to resemble blood, but this color also implies that I love this person. I do. To forget this name would be to forget a piece of myself, embedded deeply now in my heart-so I keep it on my wrist, so that every time my blood circulates and pulses beneath the curling letters and stained skin, I will remember that theirs does not. It is not enough, but it is also too much. It is a bittersweet agony to remember this person-the agony is in never having known them myself. A Name

Snapshot The rain whispered outside, sliding in ethereal lines across the window…little slivers of grey light made their way through the pane to land like the bars of a cage across the floor, across the bed. Shattered glass caught the glow, mirroring it aimlessly across the walls, smearing them in the radiant blood of twilight. The soft sound of crying fell in the otherwise still air, interrupted now and then by the tapping of the rain outside. Little broken sobs, pleading cries stirring the air…fading, fading…and then silence. A photograph fell forgotten to the floor, the delicate fingers that had cradled it no longer having the Snapshot
